Liberty redshirt senior forward Antwan Burrus has been named Big South Co-Player of the Week, for games played Dec. 16-22. The Winterville, N.C., native shares the honor with Presbyterian College's William Truss. The weekly honor marks the first for the Flames, this season. During Liberty's pair of contests, Burrus averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Burrus began the week with a 16-point performance in a 77-59 victory over Howard, last Tuesday. The forward also pulled down eight boards to go along with scoring total. In addition to his point and rebounding totals, Burrus recorded two blocks during the contest, surpassing Julius Nwosu for second on Liberty's all-time blocked shots list.

This past Saturday, Burrus was instrumental in helping Liberty nearly erase a 24-point deficit in an 86-83 defeat at Furman, posting 15 of his 19 points in the second half. Despite trailing 66-42 with 12:26 left in the contest, a Burrus jumper made it a two-point contest with 39 ticks left.

Liberty returns to action on Saturday, playing host to Southeastern (Fla.). The contest is slated for 5:30 p.m., and will stream live on the Big South Network.
