CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Rankings

The Liberty swimming & diving team is ranked No. 13 in the first CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Ranking, as announced today. The Lady Flames' ranking is their highest ever in program history in the mid-major poll.

Now in its 12th year, the Mid-Major Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams that do not benefit from large scale football or basketball conferences or those teams that provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.

Conferences under consideration for the Mid-Major Ranking are: America East, Atlantic 10, Big East, CCSA, Colonial, Conference USA, Horizon League, Ivy League, MAAC, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, MPSF, Northeast, Patriot League, and WAC.

The Lady Flames are currently ranked 13th, one spot ahead of CCSA rival Florida Gulf Coast.

The Ivy League currently holds four out of the five spots, led by No. 1 Columbia. Princeton is ranked second, with Harvard, Towson and Penn following in third through fifth, respectively.

The Lady Flames are competing in the Virginia Tech Swimming Invitational today through Saturday, at Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
