Lady Flames celebrate after hearing they will play No. 1 seed and defending NCAA Champion North Carolina, Saturday.

The Liberty women's soccer team is headed to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the first round of the NCAA Tournament, squaring off with No. 1 seed North Carolina, Saturday at 2 p.m. The contest will stream live on GoHeelsTV.

The Lady Flames (16-5-1) clinched a berth to the tournament, Sunday afternoon, defeating Radford, 5-0, to capture the program's fourth Big South Championship and first since 2005.

Head coach Jessica Hain's squad now takes on the defending NCAA champion Tar Heels (17-4), who earned a No. 1 seed for the first time since 2010. Regarded as one of the most storied programs in NCAA Division I women's soccer, UNC has won 21 of 31 NCAA national championships all-time.

Liberty enters its first-ever meeting with the Tar Heels after setting a new program record in single-season wins. Offensively, the Lady Flames are led by sophomore and Big South Tournament MVP Brittany Aanderud, who has 22 points on six goals and a program-record 10 assists.

In between the pipes, redshirt freshman goalkeeper Holly Van Noord has also made her mark, setting a Liberty and Big South single-season record with 14 shutouts.
