Complete Release

The Liberty swimming & diving team received a national ranking this week, as the Lady Flames are ranked No. 43 in NCAA Division I, according to the latest Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Top 25.

The Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com rankings account for teams' performances over the last month. For every meet, all individuals are objectively ranked, based on percentile of top national performances. The rankings are based on teams' top 27 swims in a meet.

The Lady Flames' ranking marks their second-ever appearance in the Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Top 25, after finishing the 2012-13 campaign in 37th place.

California is ranked No. 1 in the poll, followed by Florida in second. USC, Indiana and Texas A&M rank third through fifth, in that order. A total of 196 schools sponsor women's swimming at the NCAA Division I level.

Liberty is one of two CCSA teams to appear in the national poll this month, as Florida Gulf Coast is ranked 38th. Three teams which the Lady Flames have faced so far this season, also drew national rankings, in No. 8 North Carolina, No. 29 Virginia Tech and No. 45 Illinois.

The Lady Flames will next host Vanderbilt of the SEC in their lone home meet, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. at LaHaye Aquatic Center. Liberty then will travel to face defending Atlantic 10 champion Richmond, Nov. 9.
