NCAA East Preliminary Round Blog: Day 3
From the newly remodeled and expanded press box overlooking North Carolina A&T's Aggie Stadium, LibertyFlames.com will provide live blog coverage of all three days of the 2013 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet.
Twelve will be the magic number, as that many competitors in each event will earn the right to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore. Mychelle Cumings punched her ticket to Eugene in the women's discus on Thursday, while Ryan Smith did so in the men's shot put on Friday.
Seven Liberty athletes will compete today, on the meet's final day. Here's how the Flames' schedule breaks down.
10 a.m. – Men's Hammer (Ryan Smith)
Noon – Women's Javelin (Christina Mitchell)
1 p.m. – Men's Triple Jump (Chris Johnson)
5:30 p.m. – Women's Shot Put (Mychelle Cumings)
6 p.m. – Men's High Jump (Kyle Wheeler)
6:45 p.m. – Men's 1,500 Quarterfinal (Isaac Wendland)
8:45 p.m. – Men's 5K Semifinal (Caleb Edmonds)
I will once again use the interactive CoveritLive blog interface. This format allows readers to submit comments and questions throughout the day, as you track your favorite Flames and Lady Flames' progress.
Without further ado, go Liberty!
