Layer Signs Moller to NLI
Head Liberty Men's Basketball Coach Dale Layer has announced the signing of Peter Moller for the 2014-15 academic year.
Moller (6-3, 185, Vaerloese, Denmark) currently plays as a combo guard for Vaerloese-Denmark, while completing his education through Falkonergaardens High School. This past season, he concluded the year as the second leading Danish scorer in the league at 15.2 ppg, while averaging 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Moller also posted double scoring figures in 25-of-28 games, including a season-high 29-point performance.
"Peter is a very versatile guard with a great feel and skill set," Layer stated. "He has played against very tough and experienced international competition. We are excited to welcome him into the Flames program. Coach [Brian] Joyce has been overseas to see him on several occasions and I saw him last summer on the summer circuit. Peter will fit in with our style very well."
In addition to his club level experience, Moller has competed in 50-plus games with the Danish National Team in international competition against some of the best teams in Europe. Along with finishing as the leading scorer in the Nike International Euroleague Competition, Moller was also named MVP of the Nordic Championship. Moller recently received the Youth Player of the Year Award for all of Denmark, awarded to the country's top young talent.
Moller becomes the sixth signee to commit to Liberty this year, joining five players from the early signing period – Stavian Allen (F, 6-8, 195, Cary, N.C.), Braxton Bonds (G, 6-1, 170, Nashville, Tenn.), Evan Maxwell, (C, 6-10, 240, Scranton, Pa.), A.C. Reid (G/F, 6-5, 190, Spring Branch, Texas) and Ezra Talbert (F, 6-8, 190, Olathe, Kan.). Moller chose Liberty over Drake, Ohio, George Washington, and Northeastern.
