Ashley Rininger is the only three-time Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week in the conference this season.

For the third time this season, Liberty redshirt sophomore Ashley Rininger has been honored as the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week.

Rininger, whose trio of Big South Player of the Week honors are the most by any conference player this season, recorded back-to-back double-doubles during the Lady Flames' home victories over UNC Asheville and conference leader Winthrop. For the week, the Canton, Ohio native paced Liberty in points (16.5 ppg) and rebounds (11.0 rpg).

Rininger helped Liberty avenge a defeat against UNC Asheville on Thursday, scoring 14 of her game-high 20 points during the second half of the Lady Flames' 64-49 win. She also pulled down 11 rebounds, enabling her to break Megan Frazee's program sophomore-class record with her 14th double-double of the season.

The Lady Flames then halted Big South-leading Winthrop's seven-game winning streak with an 80-69 victory on Saturday. Rininger scored all 13 of her points after halftime and collected a game-high 11 rebounds against the Eagles.

For the season, Rininger leads the Big South in double-doubles (15), while ranking second in field goal percentage (.545), fourth in rebounds (9.1 rpg), tied for fifth in blocked shots (1.4 bpg), sixth in free throw percentage (.743) and seventh in scoring (14.8 ppg).

Rininger and the Lady Flames will close out the regular season with road contests at Radford (Thursday, 7 p.m.) and Longwood (Saturday, 2 p.m.) Liberty (17-10, 13-5 Big South)  is currently in third place in the Big South standings, one game behind conference co-leaders High Point and Winthrop.
