Nicholson Takes 10th in Hilton Garden Weight Throw

Jennifer Nicholson came in 10th in the women's weight throw on Saturday.

Liberty junior Jennifer Nicholson was the Lady Flames' highest placer at the Hilton Garden Innvitational at JDL Fast Track on Saturday, claiming a 10th-place finish in the women's weight throw.

Nicholson, who had placed 11th in Friday's shot put competition, reached 49-5.5 on her best weight throw attempt of the day.

Freshman Oasis Hernandez clocked a time of 7.82 seconds in the women's 60-meter dash semifinals, placing 18th overall in the event.

Sophomore Rajon Stinnett-Perry was the Lady Flames' top finisher in the 200-meter dash. She took 24th place of 65 entrants with her time of 26.93 seconds.

For the seventh consecutive season, Liberty will compete in Penn State's Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup, Friday and Saturday at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pa. It will be the Flames' first team-scored meet of the 2013-14 indoor season.
