Wright Named Sports Network FCS All-American
Richard Wright added another All-America honor to his award-winning career at Liberty, as the long snapper was named to the Sports Network FCS All-America first team earlier today.
This is the second time Wright has been named to an All-America team during his career. In 2011, Wright was named to the CSN Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America listing.
Wright earned his third career Big South first-team all-conference honor in 2013. The senior started 45 consecutive career games at long snapper. The Nathalie, Va., native snapped for four different all-conference players (two kickers and two punters) and one All-American kicker during his four year playing career at Liberty.
Wright was Liberty's lone selection on the Sports Network FCS All-America listing and he was one of six Big South selections on the listing.
He was joined by fellow Big South players: linebacker Quinn Backus (Coastal Carolina), offensive lineman Jamey Cheatwood (Coastal Carolina), wide receiver Kenny Cook (Gardner-Webb), defensive end Shaquille Riddick (Gardner-Webb) and running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (Coastal Carolina).
