Last week, defensive lineman Cory Freeman, along with head coach Turner Gill and quarterback Josh Woodrum, took part in Big South Football Media Day in Charlotte, N.C., to kick off the 2013 football season.

Following the annual Big South Football Media Day luncheon, where the preseason poll and preseason all-conference teams were announced, media breakout sessions where held in the Charlotte Plaza Uptown Hotel.

During the interview time, Liberty Flames Sports Network reporter Alan York had a chance to talk with Freeman, who was named to the Big South preseason all-conference team.

Freeman had a breakout season in 2012, finishing the year with a career-best 31 tackles, including a career-high 16 solo stops. He was second on the team among defensive linemen in total tackles and helped the Flames lead all Big South programs in rushing defense (126.1 yards allowed per game).
