While at CSU, he coordinated media requests while disseminating stats and generating press releases and other materials for CSU’s athletics department. He served as primary contact for the Buccaneers’ volleyball, women’s tennis and softball teams, also aiding as secondary contact for men’s basketball.
Carmany graduated with his M.S. in organizational leadership from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa. in May, 2010. During his time in Erie, Pa., he also acted as host SID for conference championship events in men’s and women’s soccer.
Prior to Mercyhurst, Carmany earned a B.A. in sports ministry at Malone University in Canton, Ohio. He served as equipment manager for the men’s basketball team for three seasons and aided the sports information office with game management. He wrote for the campus newspaper, the Aviso, for three years, serving as sports editor as a junior. In addition, Carmany was a three-time NAIA national qualifier in track and field.
A New Middletown, Ohio native, Carmany presently resides in Lynchburg. His older brother, Paul, is currently in his seventh year as an assistant athletics communications director at Liberty
