Liberty video content coordinator Dan Crutchfield is traveling with the No. 1 seed Liberty women's basketball team this weekend, as the Lady Flames compete in the Advance Auto Parts Big South Women's Basketball Championship in High Point, N.C. He will be providing a look behind the scenes throughout the tournament, beginning with this first video.
Liberty trailed for much of the game Friday against No. 8 seed Coastal Carolina, but came back in the second half for a 51-44 victory. Four Lady Flames scored in double figures, led by Tolu Omotola's 14 points. Avery Warley also grabbed 19 rebounds, single-handedly matching the Chanticleers' team total.
The Lady Flames will return to action Saturday at 4 p.m. in the first of two semifinals. Liberty will face No. 4 seed High Point, which defeated No. 5 seed Charleston Southern by a 77-49 count on Friday. The game will be televised on MASN, Fox College Sports Atlantic and WRTN 13.2 in Lynchburg.
