Liberty Places in Seventh at Frank Landrey

Brad Miller (70-71-69, 210) played as an individual for Richmond and finished five under par on Tuesday to win medalist honors at Liberty's fourth annual Frank Landrey Invitational, at the par-72, 7,186-yard Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville, Va.

The day opened up with the conclusion of round two, which was suspended because of darkness on Monday night. The third and final round started at 10 a.m., with fixed tee times.

Liberty (893) finished in seventh place out of 15 teams, while the Flames' "B" squad took home sixth place after shooting an 890. Preston Dembowiak (74-73-71, 218) finished in 13th place out of 87 golfers with a score of two over par. Tobias Pettersson (73-71-77, 221) finished tied for 15th place, while Stephen Dooley (72-79-77, 228) finished tied for 45th. Chris Watters (76-75-79, 230) and Jay Calvo (74-82-77, 233) round out the Flame five.

Liberty's "B" squad faired a little better with Nathan Schenz-Davis (74-72-70, 217) leading the way. The redshirt junior finished tied for ninth at one over par. Jacob Singleton (72-70-81, 223) finished tied for 21st, while Jordan Frye (72-75-78, 225) finished tied for 29th. Sang Chun (77-76-75, 228) and Manuel Moreno (77-74-80, 231) round out the Flames' "B" squad. Two additional Flames participated as individuals. David Je (73-75-77, 225) finished tied for 29th with Frye, while Josh Bain (80-73) was disqualified during the final round.

Miller won medalist honors after entering the day in a five-way tie for second place. J.P. Solis of USC Aiken, Scooter Buhrman of Longwood and Fielding Brewbaker of James Madison all finished with a 213, three strokes behind Miller. Adam Webb of Longwood and Matt Neely of James Madison finished tied for fifth place, four strokes behind the medalist.

Longwood (868) won the tournament championship, holding off Radford (877) by nine strokes. James Madison (879) finished in third place, while Delaware (882) rounds out the top tournament finishers.

Liberty returns to the links on Oct. 27 when they travel to Old Dominion's Seascape Collegiate Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be contested at the Seascape Golf Club in Kitty Hawk, N.C.
