Jay Calvo leads the way for the Flames at 4 over.
The Liberty men's golf team sits in eighth place out of 12 squads after two rounds at the CSU Invitational, played at the 6,978-yard, par-72 Crowfield Country Club, in Goose Creek, S.C., on Monday.
Liberty (299-301—600) sits in eighth place, 12 strokes behind first-place Radford (293-295—588). During the first day of competition, the Flames were led by Jay Calvo (73-75—148), as the junior is tied for 15th at 4 over. Nathan Schenz-Davis (76-74—150) is at 6 over, while Stephen Dooley (76-75—151) finished the first day at 7 over. Rounding out the Flame five were Andrew Nelson (74-78—152) at 8 over and Chris Watters (82-77—159) at 15 over.
Following Radford at the top of the pack are Belmont Abbey (299-291—590), two strokes back, and Longwood (301-290—591) three strokes back.
Playing as an individual, Patrick Rada (68-70—138) of South Carolina, leads medalist honors at 6 under. Kyle Bailey (71-70—141) of Radford is three strokes back at 3 under. There is a three-way tie for third-place, as Baker Elmore (74-69—143), another individual from South Carolina, is 1 under, tied with Blake Palmer (74-69—143) of Gardner-Webb and Thomas Parker (73-70—143) of Stetson.
The CSU Invitational concludes with a final round, tomorrow at the 6,978-yard, par-72 Crowfield Country Club.
