Williams Stadium among Sports Network's Best Stadiums
Williams Stadium, home of Liberty football since 1989, is listed among the best FCS facilities in the country according to a recent listing released by the Sports Network.
Following the overall top five facilities, the online listing ranked the top stadiums in each of the 13 FCS conferences in the country, with Liberty's Williams Stadium topping the Big South Conference list.
Williams Stadium underwent a major renovation prior to the 2010 season, bringing the stadium's seating capacity to 19,200. Additionally, the reconstruction added a five-story tower that includes 20 luxury suites, a large club pavilion for Flames Club members and a spacious press area.
Liberty has continually maintained some of the top FCS attendance numbers in the country the last several years. In 2012, Williams Stadium attendance ranked No. 9 in the country in total attendance (97,910) and No. 11 in average home attendance (16,318).
Liberty has won a Big South record 18-consecutive games in front of its home crowd at Williams Stadium, a home winning streak that spans six years in league games.
