Following are links to complete lists of Liberty University scholarships for domestic students. Students are encouraged to apply for outside scholarships as well.
General Scholarship Rule (GSR): A student’s combined federal grants, state grants, and Liberty aid are not permitted to go above the combined cost of actual tuition and room and board charges based on the lowest rate charged by the University. Students who are not charged for housing cannot exceed the cost of actual tuition only for federal grants, state grants, and Liberty aid. If the combined aid exceeds the total cost of tuition and room and board as specified, Liberty aid will be reduced to resolve the excess aid. The Federal Pell Grant is not included as a factor in the GSR for Resident students.
A valid FAFSA must be on file for each year before an account will be awarded any federal, some state, and most institutional aid. If selected for the Verification process, you must have completed the process and have a verified FAFSA on file. More details regarding the Verification policy and how aid is affected can be read here.
For recipients of institutional aid (and discounts), such as Continuing Education, Dependent Grant-In-Aid, and Resident FCA/LCA/Temple/TCS, the tuition scholarship will be reduced by any amount received from federal and state grant amounts. Please see notation above regarding the General Scholarship Rule.
Awards that cover the majority of direct costs (i.e. DGIA, Continuing Education, Private School Affiliation Scholarships, Valedictorian/Salutatorian, etc.) do not allow for stacking with other Liberty aid sources such as the Liberty Champion or New Student Book Dollars.
Most resident scholarships are for prospective, full-time undergraduate students unless stated otherwise in the award eligibility criteria below.
There are currently no institutional scholarships offered to resident graduate students.
