LCA FamilyOur research demonstrates that students who immerse themselves in Liberty campus culture, including the convocations, the student life, the recreational offerings and the residential hall relationships, have a greater chance for succeeding at Liberty.  Students in residence halls are prayed for daily and have an accountability structure to help keep them on task.  Retention and graduation rates are superior for students who live on campus their first year of college.  This residency requirement is being phased in so that by the fall of 2016, we expect it to apply to all unmarried entering Liberty students under 21 years of age.  Families may apply for student loans if they are unable to afford the two semesters of on campus housing.  Additionally, appeals for waivers will be considered for true hardships, but not for convenience or financial reasons.  Appeals would need to be submitted to LU’s admissions office by June 1 of the student’s senior year of high school and include documentation from third party professionals  supporting the hardship.  We trust that living on campus will help our students get off to a great start socially and academically so that maintaining a grade point average above the minimum will be more easily within their grasp.

Liberty Christian Academy

Award Percentages

Students enrolled at LCA on or before January 24, 2012 Kindergarten through 12th grade; the following scholarship terms and conditions are effective for incoming Liberty University scholarship students:

Award: The Liberty University/Liberty Christian Academy tuition scholarship award is based on the number of years a student completes high school at LCA before graduating from LCA. 25% scholarship for remaining tuition, after subtracting other non-loan financial aid, per grade of high school the student completes at Liberty Christian Academy (four years = 100%; three years = 75%; two years = 50%; one year = 25%). The scholarship percentage is applied to tuition costs after subtracting the Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG, and the VTAG awards from the tuition total.

Students enrolled or returning to LCA after January 24, 2012 Kindergarten through 12th grade; the following scholarship terms and conditions are effective for incoming Liberty University scholarship students.

Award: The Liberty University/Liberty Christian Academy tuition scholarship award is based on the number of grade years a student completes at LCA before graduating from LCA.  For every grade year a student completes at LCA from kindergarten through 12th grade, the student earns a scholarship award of 10% of remaining tuition costs (after subtracting other non-loan financial aid) not to exceed 100%.  Only one 10% benefit will be awarded for a grade year that is repeated at LCA.  To be eligible for the 100% tuition scholarship, the students MUST attend LCA consecutively for grades 9-12 without breaking enrollment.  The scholarship percentage is applied to tuition costs after subtracting Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG, and the VTAG awards from the tuition total.

Student Attendance Example (assumes LCA graduation) 10% scholarship multiplied by the years attended Total Scholarship Award
Newly registered kindergarten student with continuous LCA enrollment afterward 10% x 13 years 100% scholarship*
Newly registered 3rd grade student with continuous enrollment LCA enrollment afterward 10% x 10 years 100% scholarship
Newly registered 6th grade student with continuous LCA enrollment afterward 10% x 7 years 70% scholarship
Newly registered 10th grade student with continuous LCA enrollment afterward 10% x 3 years 30% scholarship
Newly registered 3rd grade student completes one grade, breaks enrollment, then is readmitted and completes grades 9-12 10% x 5 years 50% scholarship
Newly registered kindergarten student with continuous LCA enrollment through 9th grade, breaks enrollment, then is readmitted and completes grades 11-12 10% x 12 years 90% scholarship**

* Scholarship is capped at 100%, even if the student attends LCA for eleven or more grade years.
**Unless student attends LCA continuously for all four grades of high school, 100% scholarship cannot be awarded.  90% scholarship is the most that can be awarded.
