Bible Reading Plans

The New Testament has 27 books with 260 chapters and the OT has 39 Books with 928 chapters. There are a total of 1188 chapters to read if you read the entire Bible.
We want to suggest choosing from the following list a plan that you will commit to. These plans vary in length of days and length of Bible chapters. Pick a plan that you like or feel free to design your very own.
Proverb a day for a month
Read one chapter a day from Proverbs for one month. Since Proverbs has 31 chapters, you can read the entire book of Proverbs in one month.
Proverb a day for a year
Read one chapter a day from Proverbs, reading through Proverbs each month of the year.
This commitment will allow you to read the book of Proverbs 12 times.
Psalm a day for 5 months
Read one chapter a day from Psalms, which has 150 chapters. This plan will take 5 months to complete.
Psalm a day for a year
Read one chapter a day from Psalms with a commitment to read one chapter everyday
for the entire year thus allowing you to read book of Psalms twice.
5 Psalms a day for a month
Read five chapters a day from Psalms and you will read the book of Psalms in one month.
Proverb and a Psalm a day for a Semester
Read one chapter of Psalms and one Chapter of Proverbs. This gives you insight in both worship and wisdom.
You can use this plan for 5 months (one semester) and read Proverbs 5 times and Psalms once.
5 Psalms and a Proverb a day for a year
Read five chapters of Psalms and one chapter of Proverbs a day. You can use this plan for just one month or for every month. This plan will also cause you to learn more about worship and wisdom.
1 New Testament chapter a day for a year
Read 1 chapters a day from the New Testament five days a week. This will bring you to read through the New Testament in a year (260 chapters).
3 New Testament chapters a day
Read 3 chapters a day from the New Testament, which will take you three months to complete.
3 Old Testament chapters a day
Read 3 chapters a day from the Old Testament, which will take 10 months to finish.
Entire Bible in a year
Read through the entire Bible by reading 3 chapters a day during the week and 5 chapters on Sunday.
Start at Genesis and finish at Revelation. We suggest you have a reading Schedule.
Proverb and 1 New Testament chapter a day for a year
Read one chapter a day from Proverbs and 1 chapter a day from the New Testament, in which you will read through New Testament in a year. If you choose this plan you will have read through your New Testament and the Book of Proverbs 12 times in the year.
Proverb, Psalm and 1 New Testament chapter a day
Read one chapter a day from Psalms and one chapter from Proverbs and read 1 chapter a day from New Testament and you will read through the New Testament in a year. If you do this for a whole year, you will have read through your New Testament and the Book of Proverbs 12 times and the book of Psalms twice.
Proverb and 3 New Testament chapters a day for a year
Read one chapter a day from Proverbs and 3 chapters a day from New Testament, which will take you a month. Do this for a whole year and you will have read through your New Testament 4 times and the Book of Proverbs 12 times.
Proverb, Psalm, and 3 New Testament chapters a day for a year
Read one chapter a day from Psalms and one chapter from Proverbs in the morning and read 3 chapters a day in the evening from the New Testament. If you complete this plan for a whole year and you will have read through your New Testament 4 times, the Book of Proverbs 12 times, and the book of Psalms twice.
New Testament book a month
Choose a shorter NT book (like Philippians) to read completely every day for 30 days. Every day read the same book so you can beging to experience that repetition leads to retention.
Suggestion: Jan – James; Feb. – Philippians; March – I John; April- I Peter; May- 2 Peter; June- I Timothy; July-Ehesians; August - Galatians; Sept.- Colossians; Oct.- I Thessalonians; Nov. - Titus; Dec. – II Timothy.
One Year Bible
Purchase and use a One Year Bible that includes daily reading from OT, NT, Proverbs and Psalms.
One Year Bible and a Devotional
Purchase and use a One year Bible that includes daily reading from OT, NT, Proverbs and Psalms
and purchase a devotional like Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest.
Verse a day
Read one verse a day from anywhere in the Bible.
Wisdom chapter a day
Read one chapter a day from the wisdom books reading one chapter a day from Monday through Friday. The Wisdom Books include: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, James and Hebrews.
Prophetic chapter a day
Read one chapter a day from the Prophetic books reading one chapter a day Monday through
Friday. The Prophetic Books include: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos,
Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
Your Choice
Come up with your own Bible-reading plan and commit to doing it for a year.
