School of Divinity Study Tour to Israel

In May of 2015, the School of Divinity is offering a study tour of Israel! You can tour the Holy Land and receive graduate credit. Space is limited to approximately 40 people, so sign up quickly!

Dr. David Hirschman, acting Dean of the School of Divinity, extends an invitation for graduate School of Divinity students to join us on our 2015 trip to Israel.

When: May 15-26, 2015  NOW CLOSED

Where: Jerusalem, Jericho, Qumran, Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Dead Sea, Megiddo, Hazor, Dan, and more.

Who: Dr. Gary Yates, Dr. Kevin Corsini, Dr. Dave Hirschman, and Dr. Chet Roden will be lecturing on location daily.

Courses Offered:

  • NBST 510, 515, 520, and 611.
  • OBST 510, 515, 520, 655; MDiv. and Ph.D. Special Studies
  • DSMN 697 Special Studies - Jesus and Disciple Making, LEAD 697 Special Studies - Leadership Style of Jesus (Note: These Special Studies offerings may be subbed for DCP electives.)

Travel: Flights from Roanoke or Philadelphia. The trip is priced out of Roanoke. But, flights can be made from one’s nearest airport into Philadelphia. Those deviations must be made through the travel company.

Cost: $4795/person - double occupancy (price based on the minimal number of students and may decrease with larger passenger enrollment) – Cost includes round trip air fare from Roanoke (deviations not included), travel insurance, 9 nights lodging, all meals once in Israel, entrance fees, air conditioned tour bus, guide, driver, and medic/security personnel.

Alumni and non-students are welcome to attend this trip! The cost listed is per person, but does not include tuition if you decide to take a class along with the tour. Please make note of the deposit deadlines, which are necessary to secure a spot on this trip. Seating is limited!
