Center for Music & Worship Ensembles

Center for Music & Worship students participate in six semesters of ensembles as as part of their degree requirements. These ensembles include :

LU Praise

LU Praise is a 25-member gospel concert choir that serves as an official representative team for Liberty University's Center for Music and Worship. The group performs various styles of music used in the African-American choral tradition, including but not limited to: Black Gospel, Gospel Song, Spirituals, Hymns, Scripture Song and Sacred Classic.

House Band

This team is comprised of six vocalists and a rhythm section. The group assists in leading worship during events such as the School of Music Convocation Services, Fusion events at CFAW, as well as special student events.

The House Band began in the fall of 2008 with six vocalists and a rhythm section under the direction of Dr. John Kinchen, who now servces as the Associate Dean for the Center for Music & Worship.

Added to these elements, the group also has a horn line which helps utilize a variety of musical stylings in the contemporary setting. The group helps to lead worship during events such as Center for Worship Ministry Chapel, special student events and FUSION: United in Worship.
