Liberty offers a variety of Bible studies

The Campus Pastors Office of Liberty University is reaching out to the student body by offering several opportunities in the current semester to become involved in Bible studies that cover a wide variety of topics, according to campus pastor Michael Mullins.

According to its website, the Campus Pastors Office is available to students who are going through difficult situations, immediate crises or need spiritual guidance.

Bible Study

One of the Bible studies that is being offered through the office is Come & Follow: A Walk thru the Gospel According to Mark, taught by Mullins. This coed study will meet every Thursday at 3:30-5 p.m. starting Feb. 6, in DeMoss Hall 1077.
“I love discussing Jesus Christ and God’s word with people, and this is what I expect to happen in this group,” Mullins said.

According to Mullins, some of the studies that are offered, such as a new believer workshop and a celebrating marriage workshop, will deal with specific issues or subjects. Some groups are coed and others are separated by gender. They are all led by someone on or associated with the Campus Pastors team.

Celebrating Marriage is a workshop for those who are engaged or close to being engaged. This group, led by Dane Emerick, will meet at Liberty Christian Academy Wednesdays at 6:15-7:15 p.m. in classroom 151 starting Feb. 5.
“The workshop will cover the following topics: Christianity 101, spiritual warfare, prayer and community,” Mullins said.
1st and 10 with Him is a coed study that consists of reading the “Our Daily Bread” devotional. This group meets Wednesday in Green Hall 1887 at 4-5 p.m. and is led by Frank Hickson.
New Believer Workshop is a study for those who have recently become a believer. The next session will be held April 26 at 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. in Green Hall 1953.

Those struggling with the issue of lust have a few options of studies to attend. Lust Free Living 101 is a group for men. It will meet Monday or Thursday in DeMoss Hall 2009 at 6:30-7:45 p.m. The Monday group starts Feb. 3, and the Thursday group will begin Feb. 6. Lust Free Living Advanced is also a group for men that will take place Tuesdays, starting Feb. 4, at 6:30-7:45 p.m. in DeMoss Hall 2009. Both of these men’s groups are led by Emerick. There is also a class for women called Ladies Living Lust-Free. This group will meet Sundays in Green Hall 1887 from 6:30-8 p.m. starting Feb. 9.
