Student Activities hosts first Dorm Olympics

Liberty students tested both their minds and physical strength at the first Student Activities (SA) Dorm Olympics in the Schilling Center Saturday, Oct. 12. According to SA member Abigail McWaters, 13 groups participated in the games.

The teams, which all sported the same color of T-shirts, ranged in size from 6-10 members, including at least three females per team.

The Dorm Olympics consisted of six rounds of games, including fitness and trivia games, as well as charades and team-building and skill-based games.

The event gave students an opportunity to have fun and grow relationships within dorms and friendships between competitors, according to McWaters. Additionally, because Saturday’s weather included rain, the event gave students an alternative to outdoor weekend activities.

The top three finishers were awarded $800 in gift cards. Teams Dormination, East Ain’t Easy and Jolly Ranchers took gold, silver and bronze, respectively.
