Recreation Centers is proud of the professional opportunities made available to Liberty students in the form of work study employment. Each year, Recreation Centers employs over 100 students, allowing them to develop necessary transferable skills while helping to fund their educational experience.

Lifeguards

Provide a safe environment for patrons while working with a dedicated and outgoing team.  

Qualifications:

  • Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED
  • Ability to tread water for 3 minutes
  • Ability to retrieve a 10-pound brick and swim 25 yards in less than 1 minute 30 seconds
  • Ability to swim 300 yards in under 6 minutes using freestyle or breaststroke 

Facility Attendant

Enjoy working in a gym atmosphere with a tight-knit team to provide necessary and quality service to fellow students and guests. 

Qualifications:

  • Certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and takes initiative 
  • Work Study eligible

Rock Wall Attendant

Be part of a fun work environment that can challenge you and teach you new skills daily. 

Qualifications:

  • Certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED
  • Willing to work late afternoons Monday-Friday
  • Must be available to work 18 hours a week
  • Willing to work occasional Saturdays 
  • Work Study eligible 

Marketing and Creatives

Add to your portfolio and gain real world experience as a photographer, videographer, graphic designer or content/social media specialist. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office
  • Creativity and ability to think outside of the box
  • Receive critique and feedback well 
  • Ability to adapt to the Recreation Centers brand 
  • Experience with social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

Personal Trainers

Be part of a driven and passionate team of fitness professionals who are dedicated to helping others attain their goals. 

Qualifications:

  • Certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of nutrition and the workout equipment
  • Hold an approved personal trainer cert or pass the LaHaye Rec and Fit test
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and create exercise programs

Group Exercise Instructors 

Join our talented team of instructors to be a positive influence and empower many to embrace a healthy lifestyle. 

Qualifications:

  • Certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED
  • Willing to work a variety of hours
  • Good communicator and able to work with both student and professional staff
  • Must have great organizational skills, be able to multitask and have attention to details

Be the face of our department and provide quality customer care while working with a closely connected team of excellent employees.

  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Great communicator and able to work with student and professional staff
