About Us The Liberty University Taekwondo Team competes in Olympic Style sparring in the Atlantic Collegiate Alliance of Taekwondo (ACAT), Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference (ECTC), and the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association (NCTA). The LU Taekwondo Team is a member of USA Taekwondo.
How to join? Please contact Coach Tom Childress at email@example.com. Signups will be limited to the first two weeks of each semester for beginners. Students who are already holding a taekwondo rank of green belt or above may join at any time.
Eligibility Requirement: Athletes must maintain a 2.0 gpa or higher. ECTC requires that all athletes be full time residential students and must present ID upon event check-in. ACAT and NCTA requires only that the athletes to be “currently” enrolled in college (residential or online). If competing in the NCTA championships, athletes must be registered members of Team USA Taekwondo and submit to criminal background checks. Black belts wishing to compete in the NCTA championships must also be Kukkiwon black belts and submit an International University Sports Federation (FISU) application.
Practice Days/Times: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 8pm-9:30pm
