Tobias goes off, Liberty men's lacrosse routs Southern Virginia

Behind a monster evening from Kurt Tobias, the Liberty University men's lacrosse team rolled over Southern Virginia University, 21 – 6, Friday evening at home under the lights.

Tobias found the back of the net an absurd nine times while also dishing out three assists. The sophomore from Fairfax, currently leads the Division II Southeastern Lacrosse Conference in points per game (5.50), points (44) and is second in goals with 27.

Fellow sophomore, Daniel Forbes, also had a big day for the Flames with four goals and freshman Andrew Walter recorded a hat trick bringing his total to 15 on the year. Freshman defender Nathan Lowmaster added two goals while sophomore Derek Haywood, freshman David Noll and sophomore Miguel Zolada all tallied one.

Sophomore Asa Keimig made 10 saves between the pipes, one short of his season high as the Flames held their opponent to single digits for the fifth consecutive game. In eight games thus far, Liberty has outscored their opponents a whopping 123 – 72.

Liberty (7 – 1/ 3 – 0) has over a week off before hosting the Spiders of Richmond University at home under the lights on April 10. With only one division game remaining on the road at Elon University on April 15, the Flames have a great chance at winning the Division II SELC North West Division, moving on to postseason play.
