Machholz will complement Lady Flames' deep forward lines

British Columbia native Grace Machholz, who has played forward the past three seasons for Ontario Hockey Academy in Cornwall, Ontario, is the second commitment to Liberty University's ACHA Division I women's hockey team for the 2018-19 season.
"Grace is a well-rounded player who will be a great fit at Liberty, on and off the ice," Lady Flames Head Coach Chris Lowes said. "She plays bigger than her size, and will bring great energy to our team."
He said he and Lady Flames Assistant Coach Justin Forth believe she has the speed and playmaking ability to compete for playing time in all situations as a freshman.
"I am excited to have her here in the fall and watch her impact our team and the ACHA," said Lowes, who returns a strong corps of players from the team that captured its second ACHA Division I national championship in four seasons in March.
"The reason I chose Liberty over other opportunities is the Christian values my family and I believe in, and the amazing staff and coaches that have helped me along the way," Machholz said. "I am most excited about being able to help the Lady Flames defend their national championship and the team environment and pride of putting on a Lady Flames jersey."
