Liberty University Club Sports Video and Media Specialist Monika McKenzie and Assistant Director of Video & Media Patrick Strawn recently analyzed the start of the Lady Flames' ACHA Division I women's hockey team's season and previewed Friday night's and Saturday afternoon's matchups against 11th-ranked Grand Valley State at the LaHaye Ice Center.

After losing its No. 1 ACHA DI national ranking to Adrian for the first time in six polls, Liberty (15-2, 13-0 ACHA) got it back in last week's seventh ranking by beating the Bulldogs on their home ice, 4-1, for its 15th win in a row on Nov. 17. All but two of those wins (the Oct. 14-15 sweep of Penn State) were played on the road.

Faceoff for Friday's opener against the Lakers (1-5-2) is set for 6 p.m. followed by Saturday's rematch at 1 p.m. before the Lady Flames conclude the Fall semester schedule Dec. 8-9 at No. 14 Rhode Island. Both of this weekend's games will be streamed live by LFSN on the Big South Network.
