Beach volleyball hosting co-ed tournament on East Campus

September 30, 2017  |  Lynchburg, Va.

Liberty Head Coach Kaleb VanDePerre is overseeing both the men's and women's teams for the 2017-18 season.

Liberty University's beach volleyball team started its fall season with a co-ed tournament Sunday afternoon on its home courts on East Campus beyond the Liberty Intramural Complex.

The tournament marks the debut of Kaleb VanDePerre as head coach of both the men's and women's programs, after previously serving alongside former women's Head Coach Rachel Willis. He hopes to continue to elevate both teams in their pursuit of Mid-Atlantic Regional and National Collegiate Sand Volleyball Association (NCSVA) championships.

"We have kind of established ourselves as a program in the Mid-Atlantic of the NCSVA," VanDePerre said. "We're starting to build a culture here of what the athletes can expect, how they can push each other, and continue to build off of that. We've got a lot of promising freshmen on the girls' side and a lot of new blood on the guys' side, which will be great."

On Sunday, Oct. 15, Liberty will hold separate men's and women's doubles tournaments on its two sets of courts on East Campus.
