Flames to wrap eight-game homestand against Colonials

Games 7-8: Liberty vs. Robert Morris University (Pa.)
Matchup: The Liberty Flames (6-0) take on the Robert Morris Colonials (0-0) Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the LaHaye Ice Center. It is the opening weekend for Robert Morris and concludes an eight-game homestand for Liberty.
Scouting Liberty: Liberty is coming off a sweep of Mercyhurst, winning the two matchups 8-2 and 5-0. Kyle Garcia led Liberty on the weekend with four goals, more than doubling his season total to six, and Lindsay LeBlanc added a goal and four assists in the pair of victories. Goaltenders Blair Bennett and Clayton Brown each went the distance in one of last week's games, with Brown picking up his fourth win, tied for tops in all of Division I, as well as his first career shutout on Saturday.
Scouting Robert Morris: The Colonials finished last year with a 12-23 record. Wes Heinle is the leading scorer returning for Robert Morris, finishing last season with 47 points (21 goals, 26 assists). There will be a new goalie in the pipes after the graduation of leading netminder Lee Anderson, who started every game and finished with a 5.53 goals against average (GAA).
Previous Matchups: Liberty swept both meetings with Robert Morris last year 6-0 and 10-2. Junior Rick Turner had a hat trick and senior forward Joe Smith added a pair in game one, while in game two, Turner added another hat trick and seven different Liberty players scored a goal. Blair Bennett went the distance in both games, stopping all 22 shots in game one and stopping 18 of 20 shots in game two.
All Time Series: Liberty leads the all-time series between the programs 10-2, including the last six meetings.
Coaches: Kirk Handy, in his 13th season as head coach of the Flames, has a record of 263-107-13. Michael Welch is in his first season with Robert Morris after coming over from nearby Duquesne University.
