Flames to host Mercyhurst this weekend

Games 5-6: Liberty vs. Mercyhurst University
Matchup: The Liberty Flames (4-0) take on the Mercyhurst Lakers (0-0) Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. at the LaHaye Ice Center in the first ACHA matchup this year for both squads.
Scouting Liberty: Liberty is coming off a sweep of the Atlanta Jr. Knights, winning the two matchups 8-4 and 4-3 in a shootout. Rick Turner leads the team in goals with 9, followed by Lindsay LeBlanc with 4. Clayton Brown is the leading goaltender for Liberty with a 3-0 record and 2.67 goals against average (GAA).
Scouting Mercyhurst: Mercyhurst is coming off a 20-11-3 record last year, finishing the season ranked 20th after an 8-0 loss to eventual national runner-up Oakland. Sophomore Alex Galbraith returns after leading the Lakers last year with 47 points (16 goals, 31 assists). Fellow sophomore Brian Danczak returns as the leading goaltender for Mercyhurst, finishing last season with a record of 12-5-1 and a 3.51 GAA.
Previous Matchups: This is the first meeting between Liberty and Mercyhurst.
Coaches: Kirk Handy is in his 13th season as head coach of the Flames with a record of 261-107-13. Thomas McKinnon, in his eighth season at Mercyhurst, has a record of 128-94-15.
