Liberty University's men's racquetball team finished second in the 2018- 2019 Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Racquetball Conference (MACRC) standings after a strong showing at its fourth and final regular-season tournament played last weekend at North Carolina State.

Individually, the Flames had four players finish in the top 15 out of 135 players in the men's rankings: sophomore JP Edwards (second), senior Seth Jordan (fourth), junior Garrison Walker (seventh), and senior Jesse Gauldin (13th).

Liberty's women's team finished fifth in the team standings led by senior Lindsey Marston (17th out of 47 players), junior Danielle Pearson (18th), and graduate Pamela Passburg (20th)

Liberty placed third out of 12 schools in the men's and women's combined team standings.

At the final MACRC tournament, Feb. 15-17 in Raleigh, N.C., the Lady Flames had four individual first-place finishers — Marston, who defeated junior teammate Danielle Pearson in the Division 1 Blue bracket final; Passburg (Division 3 Red); freshman Ivana Quintanilla (Division 3 White); and junior Malia Kramolisch (Division 4 Red).

Sophomore Rachel Gay and Tiffany Marston placed second and third, respectively, in the Division 4 Blue singles bracket and freshman Kelsey Cox finished fourth in Division 4 Gold.

In women's doubles, Kramolisch and Gay teamed up to win the Division 3-4 White bracket, beating Cox and Tiffany Marston in the final, and Lindsay Marston and Pearson finished second in the Division 1 Gold bracket.

Senior Seth Jordan serves at UNC Chapel Hill last fall.

Edwards paced the Flames' men's team with his runner-up showing in the Division 1 Gold singles bracket. He also joined forces with Jordan to place second in the Division 1 Gold doubles competition. Jordan also placed fourth in the Division 1 Red singles draw while Walker (Division 2 Blue), sophomore Grant Knaus (Division 2 Red), and Gauldin (Division 3 Gold) all posted second-place singles finishes. Walker and Knaus combined for a runner-up showing in the Division 2 Red doubles draw and Gauldin and senior Christian Tinsley teamed up to place second in the Division 3 Blue bracket.

Liberty's Jonathan Carothers joined JMU's Ben Kettler to win the Division 4 White doubles bracket.

Head Coach Danny Rodriguez said six men's players and four women will represent Liberty at the USA Racquetball Intercollegiate National Championships hosted by Arizona State University from April 3-6 in Tempe, Ariz.
