Bochinski elevates game, broadcasting persona with Flames test test test test

Growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, playing hockey was a primary passion for Jordan Bochinski, a rising sophomore forward on Liberty University's ACHA Division I men's hockey team.

Bochinski recently developed a passion for broadcasting. While experiencing an excellent rookie season for the Flames, contributing 15 goals and 16 assists, Bochinski switched his major from kinesiology to digital media.

Before arriving at Liberty, he started his own YouTube program called "The Bo Show," interviewing professional hockey and Canadian Football League players, including former Liberty standout defensive back Kevin Fogg with his hometown Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This summer, he has expanded the show's reach through social media on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook platforms.

"It's been a journey, a bit of a ride," Bochinski said. "A big part of being here is being able to use the gift that God has given us to play hockey and to enjoy the game but to use that to glorify Him. It's a pretty unique opportunity that very few people have."

He is an emerging leader in Liberty's locker room and has continued to sharpen his offensive game on the ice, thriving in an atmosphere where hockey and faith go hand in hand.

"The facilities and the fans and the fact that you go to class every day and you see people you know and you see your friends and they're all coming out to support you; it's very cool," Bochinski said. "Inside the dressing room with the guys and the coaching staff, it's just one big family. It's a brotherhood here. We're a close group of guys and it makes it so much more fun."

He has become even bolder in sharing his testimony on and off the ice.

"When teams come in here they know that we're a Christian university so the ice has already been broken," Bochinski said. "That allows us right away to kind of step into their hearts and lead by our actions."
