Heath Grishaw is in his third year as Head Coach of the Men’s Swimming program. He was brought on board during the first year of the program’s existence as the Assistant Coach. During Heath’s first year he was named Liberty University’s Club Sports Assistant Coach of the year! Coach Grishaw’s goal for the program is to build off of the team’s recent success and pursue the challenge of winning a National Championship.
Coach Grishaw is a native Virginian and has lived in Lynchburg, VA his whole life. He is a recent graduate from Liberty University and has started his second year in his master’s program. Heath has been coaching swimming for the past eight years in various capacities. Outside of Liberty, Heath has coached the local club Swim Team (Lynchburg’s YMCA, LY) for three seasons. Along with coaching Liberty University’s Alumni Charles Fernandez who was a former swimmer for the Men’s program and Olympic Modern Pentathlete. Growing up in Lynchburg, he has always had respect for Liberty’s positive influence over his hometown and support in his career. Coach Grishaw states, “I have seen what kind of platform Liberty has and have seen the impact they have carried in my life. God has given me a great opportunity here at Liberty and I pray that whichever athletes I encounter, I can impact them in the same way.” He is looking forward to coaching the team again for another season.
