Originally from Ontario, Coach Bloomfield started at Liberty in 1999 as the Men’s Hockey coach for a couple of years. After a sabbatical, he started the women’s team in January of 2006. In the following 6 seasons, the Lady Flames has had 4, top 5 rankings and 4 ACHA National Tournament Invitations. This past year, after leading the ACHA D1 in first place for the fall semester and accomplishing the team’s 100th win as head coach, Bloomfield is looking forward to a chance of winning a national championship.
Coach Bloomfield lives in Campbell County with his wife Sharon who also works at Liberty as Associate Director of International and Graduate admissions. Bloomfield has two children, Julie, lives in Forest and teaches at a local high school and Scott who lives in Lynchburg and co-owns a local construction company, building spec. and custom homes.
