Jake is entering his first season as Assistant Coach for the Flames and will be focusing his coaching efforts on special teams, systems, and player development.  Last year, Jake served as Team Chaplain, leading the team in weekly Bible study and filling an important support role off the ice.  Jake is a 2013 graduate of Liberty University and played one season with the Flames in 2011-2012 when he was selected Defenseman of the Year.  Before coming to Liberty in 2011 for his last season of college eligibility, Jake spent two years playing for NCAA Division III Amherst College and one year playing for NCAA Division I Army.  The former defenseman has four years of Junior Hockey experience before college as well, having spent time in the USHL, EJHL, NAHL, and CJHL at various points in his career.  Jake is currently serving as an Admissions Counselor for Liberty University Online and working on his Master’s Degree in addition to his role with the team.  He resides in Lynchburg and is very involved in a local church plant a few minutes from Liberty’s campus.  Jake is originally from Buffalo, NY, where he met and married his wife Rebecca.  The Hannon’s have recently been blessed with their first child, Grace Elizabeth, and are passionate about seeing people become free in Jesus Christ.
