Men's DI Hockey Team holds Facebook contest

The Liberty University Division I Men's Hockey Team announced its first social media contest on Thursday, Sept. 13.
Head Coach Kirk Handy set a goal of 3,000 "likes" on the team's Facebook page by Oct. 1. If the site reaches that milestone, all fans of the page will be entered in a drawing for a Liberty University Hockey hooded sweatshirt. Fans who like the page by the end of the day on Friday, Sept. 14, will gain access to a coupon for $2 admission to the Flames' matchup with the Atlanta Junior A Knights, set for 7 p.m.
Members of the hockey team and Club Sports staff will be handing out special codes after Convocation on the next three Fridays, Sept. 14, 21, and 28 that will allow students to access the page from their smartphones. Anyone who "likes" the page on the spot will receive a free ticket to the game that night.
"It is our goal to give as many people as much information as we can about Liberty Hockey," said Handy. "Facebook is one of the best ways for us to communicate effectively with our fans."
