Biography

Brian Satterlee holds earned doctorates in both Business Administrations (with dual cognates in International Business and in Management) and Higher Education (with a cognate in Vocational-Technical-Occupational Education). Since 1980, he has taught at all levels of higher education, from community college through doctoral studies and in 2004 was named the recipient of the Liberty University Excellence in Teaching Award. Prior to his joining Liberty University in 2001, he has served at the dean level at Delgado Community College (LA), Seminole State College (FL), Warner University (FL), and Averett University (VA). A member of the Oxford Round Table, he has authored books in the areas of Strategic Management, Knowledge Management, E-Commerce, and International Business. He has published 24 scholarly papers nationally within his disciplines and has been invited to speak at 26 professional conferences, both national and international.

In addition to his academic career, he is experienced in both industry and organizational development. During the 1970s and early 1980s, Dr. Satterlee worked in the construction industry, experiencing increasing levels of responsibility and authority in both technical and managerial positions. He has been a successful entrepreneur and engaged in various small business enterprises over the years. During the mid-1990s, he was invited to the Caribbean islands of Grenada and Dominica and to the Central American nation of Belize, where he was instrumental in assessing and assisting non-governmental organizations to create and sustain economic development activity.

Dr. Satterlee has served as a consultant to numerous organizations and government agencies in areas such as import/export management, operations management, productivity improvement, leadership, technology, and innovation. He serves as Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Education, working with numerous clients: CIA University, NASA National Headquarters, NASA Wallops Island Flight Facility, National Cryptologic School, United States Customs and Border Protection, United States Army Management Staff College, United States Army Logistics Management College, United States Army Ft. Bliss, Sigma Breakthrough Technologies, Inc., Market Traders Institute, Learning Tree International, Project Management Leadership Group, Management Concepts Inc., and Bisk Corporation.

An avid and active promoter of the educational benefits of world travel, Dr. Satterlee has traveled to and led Study Tours to the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Jordan, Israel, the West Bank, Greece, Turkey, Austria, and Liechtenstein. Other visited nations include the Czech Republic, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Grenada, Dominica, Belize, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Canada, and China (Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Xian, Dali, and Lijiang).
