  • $50 application fee (beginning Fall 2016, the application fee will be deferred and assessed during Financial Check-In)
  • Graduate of nationally accredited School of Nursing (NLNAC or CCNE)
  • Earned Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or Master of Science Degree in Nursing (for students seeking DNP with Family Nurse Practitioner specialty certification)
  • Verification of unencumbered registered nurse license without sanctions actual, past or pending issued in the Commonwealth of Virginia. If licensed in advanced practice nursing specialty (must have unencumbered license)
  • Verification of professional certification ONLY if student has an advanced practice certification
  • 3.0 GPA or above in most current nursing program completed (BSN or MSN)
  • 3 letters of recommendation: academic professor, professional physician or nurse manager, personal-pastor, colleague, or friend
  • Curriculum Vita or Resume
  • 2 years of professional nursing experience
  • Graduate Biostatics course along with Undergrad Statistics, Research Methods, and Health Assessment courses
  • Writing sample (not to exceed 3,000 words). Discussing introduction and worldview (1000 words or less), professional nursing experience and overview of professional goals (1000 words or less) and vision for personal practice including scholarly project and post-doctoral practice (1000 words or less).
  • Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (must be mailed directly from your college to Liberty University in an official, sealed envelope)
  • American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, Health Provider with AED
  • Interview with nursing faculty (in person, telephone, or electronic) note: Only extended to selected applicants
  • Self-Certification Form (for students in the final term of their bachelor's degree)
  • Current Liberty undergraduate students seeking preliminary acceptance into a graduate program must complete a Graduation Application through their ASIST Account.
