Graduate Student Checklist

Complete the following steps to begin the resident graduate enrollment process.

  • Step 1: Claim your ASIST account

    (If you haven't done so already during the admissions process.) An online ASIST account is required at Liberty in order to register for courses, complete Financial Check-In or check your class schedule.

    • Go to the Create a Username page and click on “Claim Account” at the top of the page.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions.
    • Make sure to complete your FERPA in your ASIST account.
  • Step 2: Complete Financial Check-In

    To complete your enrollment and course registration, you must complete Financial Check-In. Payment arrangements are made through the Financial Check-In process each semester.

    Housing

    • Married students and students 25 years of age or older, must live off campus. The Commuter Services webpage contains excellent resources for apartment searching and connecting in the Lynchburg community.
    • Liberty University-owned graduate and married student apartments are available. 
    • Students who wish to live on campus will select their housing preferences within Financial Check-In.

  • Step 3: Register for Classes

    You will receive a registration PIN 24-48 hours after completing Financial Check-In. This PIN will allow you to register for your courses.

    Your Degree Completion Plan shows the courses you must complete to earn your degree.

    • For a PDF copy, visit the Registrar's Degree Completion Plan page.
    • For an electronic version, access your Degree Completion Plan Audit through your ASIST account.
    • If you are interested in taking online classes please contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@liberty.edu with the CRN number of the class you wish to take.

  • Step 4: Complete the Student Health Form

    Graduate students must complete the Student Health Form prior to their arrival at Liberty.  A $50 fine will be added to students' accounts who did not complete the Health Form prior to their first semester of enrollment.

    To access the Health Form:

    • Log onto your ASIST account.
    • Click on the Student tab and select Domestic Student Health Form.
      • For international students, click on General Information and select the International Student Health Form.

  • Step 5: Get your Flames Pass/Select a BankMobile Refund Preference

    BankMobile
    A BankMobile welcome packet is issued to every Liberty University student and is the tool needed to select a refund preference to receive financial refunds. When you receive your packet, use the personal code to activate your profile and select a refund preference.

    Flames Pass
    The Flames Pass is your campus ID card. It provides access to meal plans, Flames Cash account, events, and activities— campus-wide. Your Flames Pass is valid as long as you are actively enrolled and financially checked-in.

    Stop by the ID & Campus Services (Montview Student Union Room 1720) to pick up your Flames Pass. New students must have a valid driver's license with them and Financial Check-In completed in order to pick up a Flames Pass.

  • Step 6: Read the Honor Code

    Resident graduate students are responsible for knowing and complying with the Resident Graduate Code of Honor. The Code of Honor contains Liberty University’s Academic Policies and is the university’s Student Code of Conduct.

  • Step 7: Attend Graduate Induction

    Fall 2018 Graduate Orientation

    Graduate Induction is a required event designed to inform new graduate students of all University services.

    International Graduate Students: Learn about your additional International Graduate Student Orientation events.

  • Step 8: Submit Official Final Transcripts

    If you received preliminary acceptance with unofficial or official preliminary transcripts, official final transcripts showing a completed Bachelor's degree are still required.  If you are graduating from a school other than Liberty University, official final transcripts can either be requested through the Transcript Request Form, sent via an official electronic sending service to admissionsdocs@liberty.edu, or mailed to the following address:

    Students who do not submit official final transcripts showing a completed Bachelor's degree will have a hold placed on their account to prevent future course registration.
