**NOTE: You must sign into your Liberty University account to access the links below. Any other method of submission will not be accepted.**

  • $50 application fee (beginning Fall 2016, the application fee will be deferred and assessed during Financial Check-In)
  • Regionally or nationally accredited Bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA for admission.
    • Official college transcripts (must be mailed directly from your college to Liberty University in an official, sealed envelope).
    • If you would like for Liberty University to request that your college transcripts be submitted and do not have a current balance at your university, please complete the Transcript Request Form (for domestic students).
  • Official GRE or MAT Test Scores (Not required for students with an undergraduate GPA greater than 3.25). Must be within 5 years.
    • GRE: Current GRE, 150 Verbal Reasoning, 150 Quantitative Reasoning, 3.5 Analytical Writing. Former GRE: 1000 total
    • MAT: 375 Minimum (must also submit GRE Analytical Writing scores)
  • Recommendations
    • Two professional or academic recommendations are required. The recommendation form will submit a link to your recommender to complete; this link is valid for 5 days.
  • Personal Statement and Letter of Intent
    • The personal statement should be 1,000-1,750 words, typed, and double-spaced addressing past experiences, future goals in the field of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and personal qualities that will enable the individual to be an effective counselor.
    • In 350 words or more, describe your professional goals, how your interests and goals match the goals and mission of the department, and what you hope to gain from graduate study. The letter of intent should include your reasons for seeking admission to the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Liberty University.
  • Undergraduate prerequisites (can be taken after admission)
    • 6 credit hours in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field
    • 3 credit hours in Statistics (can be MATH 201)
  • Self-Certification Form (for students in the final term of their bachelor's degree)
  • Current Liberty undergraduate students seeking preliminary acceptance into a graduate program must complete a Graduation Application through their ASIST Account.

The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree program is designed to lead to professional licensure as outlined by individual state boards of counseling, however, students should consult the rules and regulations regarding licensure for their particular state.
