Welcome to Campus, Move-In Day

Plan to arrive by Tuesday, August 12 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the International Student Center (DeMoss Hall Room 2003- look for signs) to receive your welcome information and orientation schedule. Ambassadors will assist you as you move into your campus housing. 

Acclamation to Campus 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • Breakfast: Reber Thomas Dining Hall between 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: Reber Thomas Dining Hall between 12:30pm - 2:00pm
  • Indoor Soccer: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.   Thomas Indoor Soccer Center

Undergraduate Student Orientation (Mandatory)

  • Orientation: DeMoss Hall Rm 1090 (look for signs)
  • Time:  8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Breakfast will be provided.
  • Required Items: Travel documents (Passport, stamped I-20, I-94 received at port of entry). 

Early Arrivals

Students should plan to arrive on campus as close to Tuesday, August 12, 2014 as possible. 

Students who arrive prior to Tuesday, August 12, 2014 may stay in campus housing at a cost of $15/day (with approval from housing@liberty.edu).

If you arrive on campus before August 12, 2014, please report to the International Student Center (DeMoss Hall, Room 2003), which is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  (434) 592-4118.

What to Bring with you to Liberty University (Extremely important!)

Travel Documents

  • Passport
  • I-20
  • I-94
  • Contact phone numbers for your Admissions Counselor and Pick-up Coordinator.  

Medical Records

All immunizations and tests indicated on the Online Health Form must be completed prior to arrival on campus. Students without an approved health form and the required immunizations and tests may be refused campus housing and class registration. Complete the On-line Health Form before you travel (go to your ASIST account and click "General Information"). Bring your medical records with you.

Spending money (Traveler’s Checks or US cash)

For food, bedding, and other necessities immediately after arriving

U.S. Quarters (25 cent pieces) for making local phone calls after you arrive in Lynchburg. Pay phones often require 50 cents (2 quarters) for local calls. You can also use a US calling card, available at airports, to make local calls or state to state calls.


On Thurday, August 14 (during International Orientation), representatives from local banks will be on campus to help students open a bank account. A US bank account (or major credit card) is required to complete Financial Check-In unless you are paying in full and have your check made out to Liberty University. Do not travel with large amounts of cash! Bring your Cashiers Check or Bank Draft made out to yourself or traveler’s Checks to the International Orientation if you plan to open a bank account on Thursday.

Deposits made to your new bank account are not available for five days or longer. 

Making Travel Arrangements to Lynchburg, Virginia

Liberty University is pleased to pick up first-time students from:

  • Lynchburg Regional Airport
  • Lynchburg Bus Station
  • Lynchburg Train Station
  • Roanoke Regional Airport 

To Request a Pick Up:

Students needing transportation to campus from Lynchburg's airport, train, or bus station or the Roanoke airport must complete the online registration form at www.liberty.edu/transportation. If your travel plans change, please call the Transportation office at (434) 592-3640 to arrange for your new pick-up time within 24 hours.
