Welcome to Campus, Move-In Day

Plan to arrive by Tuesday, January 10, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the International Student Center (DeMoss Hall Room 2003- look for signs) to receive your welcome information and orientation schedule. Ambassadors will assist you as you move into your campus housing. You will also have the opportunity to go to the store to pick up any items you may need and set up a U.S. Bank Account. The following banks will be available on campus Wells Fargo and BB&T, transportation to any other bank will not be provided.

Acclimation to Campus 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Breakfast: International Student Center 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: International Student Center 11:30am - 1:00pm
  • Walmart Trip: Meet at the International Student Center 12:30-2:00p.m.
  • Set up a U.S. Bank Account: Grand Lobby of Demoss Hall 2:00-4:00p.m.

Tour of Liberty's Campus

  • Tour of the Jerry Falwell Library: Meet at the International Student Center(Demoss 2003) 8:15 a.m.

Walmart Trip

  • Location: Meet at the International Student Center(Demoss 2003)
  • Time: 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.

Indoor Soccer

  • Location: Meet at the Thomas Indoor Soccer Center
  • Time: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Welcome Dinner

  • Location: DeMoss Hall, Grand Lobby. Dinner in Dining Hall, followed by Ice Cream Social
  • Time:       5:30 p.m.

Undergraduate Student Orientation (Mandatory)

  • Orientation: Grand Lobby of DeMoss Hall
  • Time:  7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
  • Required Items: Travel documents (Passport, stamped I-20, I-94 received at port of entry).

Early Arrivals

Students should plan to arrive on campus as close to Tuesday, January 10, 2017 as possible.

Students who arrive between Sunday, January 8 and Monday, January 9, 2017 may stay in campus housing at a cost of $15/day (with approval from housing@liberty.edu). Students who arrive prior to Sunday, January 8, 2017 will need to stay in a local hotel at their own expense. Transit Services will provide transportation to Super 8, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Sleep Inn, and Extended Stay America. All hotels listed are on Liberty University campus.

All students must report to the International Student Center (DeMoss Hall, Room 2003) upon arrival, which is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  (434) 592-4118.

What to Bring with you to Liberty University (Extremely important!)

Travel Documents

  • Passport
  • I-20
  • I-94 (For non-Canadians, at port of entry you will receive an I-94 stamp in your passport)
  • Contact phone numbers for your Admissions Counselor and Pick-up Coordinator.

Medical Records

All immunizations and tests indicated on the Online Health Form must be completed prior to arrival on campus. Students without an approved health form and the required immunizations and tests may be refused campus housing and class registration. Complete the On-line Health Form before you travel (go to your ASIST account and click "General Information"). Bring your medical records with you (must be translated in to English). 

Spending money (Traveler’s Checks or US cash)

For food, bedding, and other necessities immediately after arriving.

 


Banking

On Tuesday, January 10 and Thursday, January 12 (during International Orientation), representatives from local banks will be on campus to help students open a bank account. A US bank account (or major credit card) is required to complete Financial Check-In unless you are paying in full and have your check made out to Liberty University. Do not travel with large amounts of cash! Bring your Cashiers Check or Bank Draft made out to yourself or traveler’s Checks to the International Orientation if you plan to open a bank account on Tuesday or Thursday. The following banks will be available on campus Wells Fargo and BB&T, transportation to any other bank will not be provided.

Check Deposits made to your new bank account may not be available for two-seven business days.

Students needing transportation to campus from Lynchburg's airport, train, or bus station or the Roanoke airport must complete the online registration form at www.liberty.edu/transportation. If your travel plans change, please call the Transportation office at (434) 592-3640 to arrange for your new pick-up time within 24 hours. Reservations must be made 72 hours prior to the date of travel.
