August 2014

  • International Student Fall Orientation
  • World Wide Welcome: Welcome for new and returning international students from Liberty. Food, games, prizes, and fellowship. A chance to connect or re-connect with students from your home country.

September 2014

  • Arab Open House: Celebrate your culture in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • Busch Gardens Trip: Enjoy Busch Gardens with other International Students. This trip is cosponsored by Trawick International and the Office of International Student Services. 
  • Hispanic Open House: Celebrate your culture in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • Optional Practical Training Workshop: learn about your OPT benefit and process your OPT documentation in a session with your Foreign Student Advisor.

October 2014

  • Immigration Seminar and Consultations: Immigration lawyer, Mr. Art Seratelli visits Liberty to explain the complex visa and immigration options and regulations available to graduates.
  • Off Campus Job Workshop: Learn about finding a job, interview tips, and how to apply for off campus work authorization with the U.S. government.
  • Health Insurance Seminar: In this seminar you will hear a representative from the International Student Health Insurance company to discuss specifics about your plan. This seminar will also cover how to use health insurance in the U.S. and how to file claims.
  • Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner: Celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with the other Canadian Students on campus.
  • Fall Break Activities: Food, games, prizes, and fellowship.
  • Korea Open House: Celebrate Korea in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • Europe Open House: Celebrate Europe in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.

November 2014

  • International Education Week: Sign up to participate in International Education Week 2014!  There are many opportunities to share your culture with the rest of Liberty’s Campus. You will be able to participate in an Cultural Talent and Fashion Show, International Coffee and Tea Tasting, International Art Show, Games Around the World, International Candy Tasting, and a Cultural Share Night. Sign up in the International Student Center.
  • I-20 Signing Day: Get your I-20 signed the same day in the International Student Center. Advisor’s will be available throughout the whole day to assist you.
  • International Student Thanksgiving Dinner: If you are staying on campus or in Lynchburg for Thanksgiving Break, celebrate Thanksgiving with the International Student Center!

December 2014

  • I-20 Signing Day: Get your I-20 signed the same day in the International Student Center. Advisor’s will be available throughout the whole day to assist you.
  • Christmas Open House: Celebrate Christmas with the International Student Center. There will be games, prizes, food, movies, and more!

January 2015

  • International Student Spring Orientation
  • Spring World Wide Welcome: Welcome for new and returning international students from colleges all around Lynchburg. Food, games, prizes, and fellowship. A chance to connect or re-connect with students from your home country.

February 2015

  • Parade of Nations: International students participate in the opening ceremony for the Mission's Emphasis Week Conference at Monday's convocation. Students represent their country by carrying their country flag and wearing native dress. We desire to have as many students as possible walk with each flag. If you go home for Christmas break, make sure to remember to return with your native dress.
  • Taste of Nations Food Festival: International students, sponsored by the Office of International Student Services, cook their favorite recipes from their home country and share it with the university community. In years past we fed over 1,000 people! If you go home for Christmas break, be sure to bring back with you some of those hard to find spices you might need. There is a cost involved for those who attend, but do not cook.
  • China Open House: Celebrate China in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.

March 2015

  • Spring Break Events: Food, games, prizes, and fellowship.
  • Africa Open House: Celebrate Africa in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • Canada Open House: Celebrate Canada in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • Working in the U.S. After Graduation Workshop: Immigration lawyer, Mr. Art Seratelli visits Liberty to explain the complex visa and immigration options and regulations available to graduates.

April 2015

  • Caribbean Open House: Celebrate the Caribbean in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • Baltimore Trip: Visit Baltimore, Maryland with the International Student Center. Take a coach bus for a day trip to Baltimore with a special international dinner included in the price. Space is limited. There is a charge per student.
  • Asia Open House: Celebrate Asia in the International Student Center. This event is open to the whole University.
  • I-20 Signing Day: Get your I-20 signed the same day in the International Student Center. Advisor’s will be available throughout the whole day to assist you.
  • Graduation Banquet: Celebrate your time at Liberty with a banquet to honor your achievements. Non-graduating students are welcome to attend to fellowship with their friends.

May 2015

  • Final Exam Study Break: Refreshments served at the C. Daniel Kim International Student Center.

June 2015

  • Summer Kick-Off Picnic: A picnic for students and family remaining for the summer at Peaks View Park. Soccer, volleyball, and badminton available. Transportation and dinner provided. There is a charge per student.
  • Putt Putt Fun Center: Come enjoy golf carts, mini golf, bumper cars, bumper boats, and laser tag. For all international students and their family.
  • Mid-Summer Night's Pizza and Movie: For all international students and their family. Dinner at Ci-Ci's Pizza and a move at the dollar theater. There is a charge per person.

July 2015

  • Indoor Soccer: Come play pick up soccer with other International Students in Lynchburg for the summer. Free event!
  • Hiking Trip: Go on a Hiking Trip to Sharp Top Mountain with the International Student Center.
