Military Science Instructor
Sergeant First Class Michael T. Goodson is a native of Clarksville, Tennessee. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 22, 2002 as a 13B Cannon Crew member. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, under One Station Unit Training (OSUT). Sergeant First Class Goodson has held a wide variety of leadership position in the Army from Gunner, Howitzer Section Chief, Gunnery Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Chief of Firing Battery, and Brigade Master Gunner.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Metal( 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters) the Army Commendation Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Good Conduct Medal (4th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, Non Commissioned Officers Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 3).
Sergeant First Class Goodson’s memberships include the Honorable and Ancient Order of Saint Barbara. SFC Goodson is married to the former Heather Stafford of Illinois. They have two children; Alexandria, and Mason.
