Military Events

Liberty University is committed to serve our military student population in achieving their educational goals as well as providing an atmosphere of camaraderie and support for other unique needs. There are several upcoming events that we invite you to be a part of whether you are a current service member, veteran, military spouse or military dependent.

Military Family Fun Day

Liberty University and the Office of Military Affairs would like to invite you and your family to our Fall Military Family Day. Come for a great day of tubing, skiing, and fellowship with others who have served. There will also be refreshments and fun activities for the kids.

Please bring your military ID card, a copy of your discharge orders, DD-214, or discharge certificate for proof of your service in the military.

Institute for Military Resilience Webinars

The Liberty University Institute for Military Resilience offers free webinars to educate our nation on the needs of our service members and veterans.  Previous webinars include; Faith-based Solutions for the Needs of the Hour, Battlefront to Home Front & from Military to Civilian, Resilient Military Marriage & Family, and Being a Military Friendly Church.

Military Emphasis Week

Each November, Liberty University and the Office of Military Affairs hosts Military Emphasis Week. This week is dedicated to honoring our service members, veterans, and their spouses for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis to preserve our freedoms. We looking forward to honoring our military with you.

  • Event Name: Riverflick’s Outdoor Theatre - “The Goonies”
  • Date: Sunday, September 14
  • Time: Movie begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.
  • Location: Downtown Lynchburg
  • Details: Come out to the last RiverFlick of the summer. RiverFlick’s outdoor theatre is located at the corner of Ninth Street and Jefferson Street (near Amazement Square) in downtown Lynchburg. Gates open at 7 p.m. and admission is free so be sure to get there early. Please bring a blanket or chair. Movie concessions will be available. Pets are not allowed. For more information visit:


  • Event Name: Smith’s Pumpkin Patch
  • Date: Saturday, October 11
  • Time: 11:00 a.m.
  • Location: On Timberlake Road (grass lot near Crown Sterling)
  • Details: You and your kids will enjoy bounce houses, obstacle courses, paint your own pumpkins, and face painting. Pumpkins (small and large), hay bales, and corn stalks will also be for sale. Adults and children 1 year and under receive free admission and $10 is charged for children 2 years+. For more information visit:


  • Event Name: A Morning at Kid’s Cove
  • Date: Thursday, November 20
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Location: Kid’s Cove at TRBC (1 Mountain View Rd.)
  • Details: Kid’s Cove is located in the main entrance of the TRBC lobby. Your kids will enjoy the large indoor playground while you mingle and enjoy a cup of coffee from Lion and the Lamb café.


  • Event Name: Christmas at Hancock
  • Date: TBD
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Location: Hancock Welcome Center
  • Details: Families in the Lynchburg area are invited to join the Liberty family at a special event to celebrate the Christmas season. You will enjoy hot cocoa, apple cider, and treats while decorating Christmas cookies and watching Christmas movies. You and your kids can also partake in pictures with Santa and a carriage ride around campus.
