Adjunct Faculty – Master in Public Health Program
Dave Barton came to Liberty after careers in health care, pharmaceutical clinical trials support, and teaching. A registered respiratory therapist, Dr. Barton worked in adult, pediatric, and neonatal intensive care units for 15 years at UVA Medical Center. He then earned a master's degree in Exercise Physiology and a doctor of philosophy in Education Research – both from UVA. Since then he has provided analytic and statistical support in a variety of research settings and taught statistics. His academic interests include logistic regression, factor, and propensity analyses, data and information management, education research, application of statistical process control techniques, and quality improvement. Dr. Barton is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He is married and has twin daughters. He enjoys running, playing guitar, composing and performing contemporary Christian and gospel songs. He also teaches biostatistics in Liberty’s Master in Public Health program.
