Finishing touches are now being made to a new townhome for resident directors, located off Champion Circle. The two-story building, with two apartments, will provide housing to three RDs, allowing them to be more centrally located to the students they serve. The townhome increases the number of RDs on campus to 26, decreasing the RD-to-student ratio.
RDs serve as supervisors to their corresponding dorms, providing students with guidance and leadership. The average RD is responsible for two to three campus dorms. Two of the RDs living in the townhome will be responsible for male dorm 26 and female dorm 27, respectively. Liberty's Campus Pastor and Director of the Office of Student Leadership Dwayne Carson is excited about the addition of the new townhouse.
“The RD for dorm 26 last year lived in dorm 23, which is on the hill. Students [in dorm 26] would never be walking by dorm 23,” said Carson. “This is just a tremendous blessing for us to have those RDs closer to our students.”
