Rizzo, who said he met Liberty founder Dr. Jerry Falwell, Sr. when he was 18 during a Bible study, has seen his church grow to eight locations in less than two decades, with thousands attending each week.
“Our heart is to plant churches and to see lost people come to Christ and experience God’s love,” he said.
He told the story of a masterpiece drawing crowds to an art gallery, but when a prideful curator wanted to stand in front of the work and speak, visitors stopped coming. Rizzo urged students to always remember that no matter what they do, their lives should center on Jesus Christ.
“Whatever God has called you to do … don’t eclipse the masterpiece,” he said. “The masterpiece is Jesus Christ. … It’s always, always, always about Him. In your marriage, your creativity, as an athlete, as a student, as someone who serves, it’s always about Christ.”
