Liberty University and the Virginia School of Arts have created a joint venture called the Lynchburg Education Broadband Joint Venture with the goal of developing a wireless broadband internet service to the Lynchburg region. This effort has resulted in a Request for Proposal to develop four EBS license channels into a WiMax broadband service.

Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. announced today that the college is considering selling The Plaza shopping center near downtown Lynchburg to a "reputable developer." The 42-acre site was donated to the school in September 2007 by the Arizona-based Sandor Development Co. At that time, it was assessed at $11.7 million.

Liberty Christian Academy has announced it expects record numbers for the 2008-2009 school year. With about 2,000 students, the school will be at full capacity. “We’ll be at maximum utilization of this facility,” said Todd Campo, superintendent.

Victory-FM, Liberty University’s radio station, on Feb. 17 will begin broadcasting a weekly half hour program highlighting the preaching ministry of the late Dr. Jerry Falwell. The program, Thomas Road Baptist Church Remembers, features the sermons Dr. Falwell preached as pastor of TRBC and as chancellor of Liberty University.
