Seminary Ministries

Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary offers several opportunities for students to minister to others within the community. Lighthouse Ministries, Korean Ministries, Liberty Godparent Home and the Center for Ministry Training all provide outlets for students to apply what they learn to their ministries.

Lighthouse Ministries

Lighthouse Ministries was created by Martha Brown and Finny Mathew to show the Love of Christ towards the people of downtown Lynchburg and surrounding communities by serving in practical ways and providing a dignified environment for spiritual growth.  Every first and third Thursday of the month, Lighthouse Ministries opens the doors to its headquarters at 1310 Church St. to distribute food and clothes to the needy.   The goal is to nourish those in need physically by food, emotionally by hugs and spiritually through Christ’s Love.

For more information or to get involved please email Lighthouse Ministries.

Korean Ministries

LBTS offers several ministries for Korean students. The Korean Language Assistant Program aims to assist students for whom English is a Second Language and who plan to return to Korea for ministry. The Korean Students Fellowship aims to foster community and evangelical theology among Korean students here at Liberty. The Korean Baptist Church of Lynchburg also offers regular services, college fellowship and prayer meetings for local Korean residents.

Center for Ministry Training

Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary requires students to apply that what they learn in the classroom in their ministries. The Center for Ministry Training is the practical arm of LBTS and acts as the dynamic hub of recruiting, training and sending pastors, missionaries and church planters that are impacting the world for Jesus Christ.

Liberty Godparent Home

Liberty Godparent Home provides housing to young women facing unplanned pregnancies. The home desires to help each woman become morally sound, mentally strong, physically independent and spiritually courageous through classes, counseling and sharing God’s unconditional love and mercy. Liberty Godparent Home was founded in 1982 and is a division of the Liberty Godparent Foundation, a non-profit organization. The home accepts young women between the ages of 12-23 that are less than 20 weeks into their pregnancies. If you or someone you know is in need of these services, please consider applying to this program.
