Dr. John D. Morrison was born and raised in Montana and throughout the West. After graduating from the University of Montana and spending several years teaching in a public high school, Dr. Morrison went to Western Seminary in Portland, Ore. (Master of Divinity and Master of Theology) and then the University of Virginia (Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophical Theology and Philosophy of Religion). Dr. Morrison began teaching at Liberty in 1983, and has taught philosophy and theology at all levels. Dr. Morrison is one of the “dedicated professors" for and in the Rawlings School of Divinity's Ph.D. program in "Theology and Apologetics", therein leading doctoral seminars in advanced theological studies. 

Dr. Morrison and his wife Ellen have two children and eight grandchildren.
